REDUCTION OF RECOVERY TIME OF VERTICAL MAGNETIC RECORDING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a recovery time of a vertical magnetic recording system. SOLUTION: User data is read from a medium having servo data and the user data encoded on the servo data. The user data is read by using a read/write head which can be operated in a write mode and a read mode. The servo data is read by using a frequency pass band having a first break frequency in a time window following shifting from the write mode to the read mode. The user data is read from a medium by using a frequency pass band having a second low break frequency lower than the first low break frequency after expiration of time window.
