PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel and a driving method therefor. SOLUTION: According to this invention, keeping the maintenance electrodes biased by a constant voltage, a waveform comprising a reset function, an addressing function, and a maintenance discharge function is applied to the scanning electrodes. In this case, an absolute value of a positive voltage is made larger than that of a negative voltage in the maintenance voltage pulses to be applied to the scanning electrodes during a maintenance period. Moreover, the address electrodes are made floating when applying the waveform comprising the maintenance discharge function to the scanning electrodes so that the voltage of the address electrodes can increase or decrease with that of the address electrodes. In such a manner, the potential difference between the address electrodes and the scanning electrodes can be decreased, therefore, the problem that mis-discharge occurs on an unchosen scanning discharge cell during an addressing period can be solved.
