PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording material having good coated surface conditions and suitability to continuous coating and excellent in brittleness. SOLUTION: In the image recording material having an image forming layer on at least one surface of a support, fine particles of an organic or inorganic compound having a mode diameter of 5-15μm are contained in at least one non-image-forming layer on the support, and a total volume of fine particles having a particle diameter of 0.5-3μm in all fine particles contained in the non-image-forming layer and all non-image-forming layers remoter from the support than the non-image-forming layer occupies 0.01-10% of a total volume of all the fine particles.
