PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening part inspection device and an opening part inspection method performing easily total inspection. SOLUTION: This opening part inspection device for inspecting the outer diameter of the opening part 601 of a plastic bottle 600 has: a floodlighting part 100 for floodlighting parallel light to a domain including the opening part 601; a light receiving part 200 for receiving the parallel light floodlighted from the floodlighting part 100 and passing the domain including the opening part 601 of the plastic bottle 600; a controller 300 for determining whether the outer diameter of the opening part 601 is within a standard range determined beforehand or not based on the parallel light received by the light receiving part 200; and a discharge part 400 for discharging a plastic bottle 600 having the opening part 601 when the outer diameter of the opening part 601 is out of the standard range determined beforehand.
