PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for a turbo machine, and a power generation facility, in which device constitution can be simplified, and in which reliability is improved. SOLUTION: In a case where rotation speed of a steam turbine rises up to set rotation speed or higher, centrifugal force is generated in an eccentric ring of an emergency governor 1, and it moves to get in contact with a trip finger 3 in an emergency trip device 2 to release a latch mechanism 5 composed of the trip finger 3 and a trip rod 4, which is detected as mechanical displacement of the trip rod 4. At an end part of the trip rod 4, a limit switch 6 is installed, and the mechanical displacement of the trip rod 4 is converted into an electrical signal. The electrical signal from the limit switch 6 is transmitted through a sequence circuit device to a quick acting solenoid valve installed in a drive for a steam valve to close the steam valve.
