PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submerged sand pump to improve the reliability to suck by controlling at a constant sand content with the submerged pump independently of sand inflow or the amount of sediment sand, by eliminating the incapability to suck owing to being buried even from a great deal of flowed sand, and improve the reliability in prevention of pump blocking and subsequential stage equipment by sand content control. SOLUTION: In the submerged sand pump, a suction pipe 2 is arranged at a lower part of a rotary shaft of an impeller 1. A preliminary whirling tub 3 of a cylindrical shape is arranged at the lower part of the suction pipe 2. A whirling flow nozzle 4 to supply the pressurized water in the tangential direction is attached to the preliminary whirling tub 3. An excavating bar 5 to excavate the sediment sand is rotatably expanded from the rotary shaft of the impeller 1 to the lower part of the preliminary tub 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
