PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator type parking device in which a width of a pathway for a user near an entrance is extended to a preferable extent. SOLUTION: The elevator type parking device includes a lifting passage 7 where an elevator 3 for conveying a vehicle moves up and down, parking shelves 8 arranged on a plurality of upper and lower stories at least on one side of the lifting passage 7, and an entrance 18 formed on an entrance/exit floor 15. The parking device comprises main columns 9 erected at four corners, beams 10, 10a installed between adjacent main columns 9, and shelf columns 13, 14 arranged on an entrance 18 side on the side of the lifting passage 7 of the parking shelf 8 and on a back side opposite to the entrance 18 to support the parking shelf 8. The shelf column 13 on the side of the entrance is fixed to the special beam 10a positioned above the entrance/exit floor 15, and at least the part of the shelf column 13 corresponding to the entrance/exit floor is eliminated.
