<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a versatile IP terminal management system and method, in which setting work is facilitated, even when introducing a number of IP terminals and maintenance and management work of an unregistered terminal and a fault-generating terminal is facilitated. <P>SOLUTION: A management apparatus 1 performs multicast transmission of an unregistered terminal search request to a plurality of IP terminals 3a, 3b, 3c... and receives a response from an IP terminal which is not registered in a call control device 2. There is a unicast response from an unregistered IP terminal device to which an IP address is set, and there is a multicast response from an unregistered IP terminal device, to which an IP address is not set.
