PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device used for the display part of electronic equipment etc., the liquid crystal display device capable of having a high pressure-resistance characteristic even at a high aperture rate. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a couple of substrates 2 and 4 which are arranged oppositely to each other, liquid crystal 6 sealed between the substrates 2 and 4, a plurality of pixel regions arranged on the substrates 2 and 4, and projection structures 51 and 52 which are arranged in the pixel regions to align and control the liquid crystal 6 and maintain a cell thickness between the substrates 2 and 4.
