<p>The invention relates to a ready-geared steering pinion (1), produced by a cold or hot forming process and designed to act as a one-piece coupling link between the steering shaft (6) and the gear rack (4) of a steering mechanism of a motor vehicle. Said steering pinion (1) comprises a cylindrical gearing section (3) comprising a helical gearing on its exterior and a cylindrical shaft section that coaxially adjoins said cylindrical gearing section. The diameter of the cylindrical shaft section is greater than that of the gearing section and the end section of said shaft section comprises a follower recess for connecting the steering shaft (6). A transition zone between the base circle of the helical gearing and the shaft section (2) comprises at least two conical sections, namely a radially external conical section with a first cone angle (alpha1) (build-up angle), situated between the diameter of the head circle on the gearing end of the helical gearing and the shaft section (2) and a radially internal conical section with a second cone angle (alpha2) (intake angle), situated between the diameter of the head circle on the gearing end and the base circle of the helical gearing.</p> |
