<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable (1) suppression of pulverization of particles accompanied with the storage/release of lithium to a negative electrode active material particles, (2) retaining of the electrical connection of the pulverized particles even if the pulverization of the particles occurs accompanied with the storage/release of the lithium of the negative electrode active material particles in order to solve a problem that as for silicon, the ratio of the volume expansion/shrinkage is large accompanied with the storage/release of the lithium, the pulverization of the particles apts to occur, the electrical connection is obstructed, and charge and discharge becomes hard during charge and discharge cycles. <P>SOLUTION: Concerning the negative electrode active material particles and their manufacturing method are characterized by silicon alloy particles having an amorphous region using silicon and their manufacturing method, and particularly this is the negative active material particles for the lithium secondary battery to store and release the lithium electrochemically, and by surface-treating a first conductive material on all or a part of the surface of the silicon alloy particles having the amorphous region composed of silicon and other metal elements, the negative active material particles of which electrical characteristics are superior, and its manufacturing method are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
