<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a failure before it happens, and to improve efficiency of repair work. <P>SOLUTION: This failure prediction device 111 has: a reception part 601 receiving status information showing operation states of a plurality of printers connected via a network; an error information detection part 602 detecting whether error information showing abnormality of the operation state is included in the received status information or not; a storage part 603 storing the detected error information, the status information including the error information, and repair information showing contents of repair performed on the basis of the error information; a similarity decision part 604 deciding whether the status information of the printer detected with the error information and the status information of the printer not detected with the error information are similar to each other or not; and an extraction part 605 extracting at least one of the repair information, the status information, and the error information of the printer detected with the error information, on the basis of a decision result of the similarity decision part 604. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
