PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work machining method in a numerical control lathe capable of reducing machining cost by shortening useless time in switching, and capable of improving the service life by reducing a burden on a feed mechanism of a tool post. SOLUTION: After finishing machining of a work W by a tool T1 of one tool post 13, simultaneously when moving the one tool post 13 up to a standby position B, the other tool post 15 is moved from a standby position D, and both the one and other tool posts 13 and 15 are made to simultaneously arrive at positions C and F preset between the work W and the standby positions B and D by controlling a feed speed of the other tool post 15.
