PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the situation that unique offset addresses for each address table to be registered in a bridge device for relaying Ethernet and IEEE1394 run out, without causing complication of the processing. SOLUTION: The predetermined number of blank tables BT are prepared in advance in which a unique value is each set for an offset address and no parameter other than the offset address is set. When an address table AT is registered, a parameter other than the offset address is set in this blank table BT. If the registered address table AT is not used for not less than a predetermined time, the address table AT is treated as the blank table BT again without changing the offset address.
