PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a complete water-blown rigid polyurethane foam foamed by using carbon dioxide gas generated by the reaction of water and a polyisocyanate as a foaming agent, effective for decreasing the consumption of water, having improved storage stability of a formulation liquid (polyol premix) to keep high reactivity over a long period and having low density and excellent flame retardance and various other physical properties. SOLUTION: The rigid polyurethane foam is produced by mixing a polyisocyanate component with a formulation liquid containing a polyol component, a catalyst and other assistant and foaming the mixture by carbon dioxide gas generated by the reaction of the polyisocyanate component with the components of the formulation liquid. A formate blocking catalyst is used as the catalyst. The consumption of water is decreased and a sufficient foaming ratio is attained by using carbon dioxide gas generated by the reaction of the formate blocking catalyst with the polyisocyanate component as the foaming agent. Accordingly, the hydrolysis of a polyester polyol is prevented to improve the storage stability of the polyol premix. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
