POLYVINYL ALCOHOL RESIN COMPOSITION, MELT MOLDING PRODUCT CONSISTING OF THE SAME, AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl alcohol type resin composition which is excellent in heat stability and can stably be molded by heat melting without problems of gellation or coloring. SOLUTION: The polyvinyl alcohol type resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a vinyl alcohol type polymer (A) and 0.01-10 pts.wt. of a fatty acid ester compound (B) whose total carbon atoms of the fatty acid unit is≥36, wherein the content of an alkaline metal element to 100 pts.wt. of the vinyl alcohol type polymer (A) is 0.00001-0.05 pt.wt. The vinyl alcohol type polymer (A) is preferably a modified polyvinyl alcohol containing 1-20 mol% of a≤4Cα-olefin unit and preferably contains a plasticizer (C) in an amount of 1-30 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the vinyl alcohol type polymer (A).
