PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric washing machine having a higher washing performance with a reduced washing water. SOLUTION: The electric washing machine includes: an outer frame; an outer tub provided in the outer frame and storing the washing water; an inner tub as a washing/spin-drying tub rotatably provided in the outer tub; a rotary board positioned at the bottom of the inner tub so as to be rotated; a driving mechanism for selectively and rotatably driving the inner tub and/or the rotary board; a water feeding mechanism for feeding washing water into the outer tub; a water draining mechanism for draining the washing water in the outer tub; a washing water circulating mechanism for sucking the washing water stored at the bottom of the outer tub and circulating and sprinkling the washing water to laundry in the inner tub from above the inner tub; and a controlling device for controlling the driving mechanism, water feeding mechanism, water draining mechanism, and washing water circulating mechanism. The rotary board has an inclined surface for repeatedly applying upward press-washing force to the laundry on the rotary board by the rotation, an upper opening portion 5c of the outer tub 5 is fitted with a cover member 15 including a cover body 61 for opening/closing a laundry access port 15a, and the lower side of the cover body 61 is provided with a watering port 16 for delivering the washing water circulated by the washing water circulating mechanism to the laundry.
