<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device for a vehicle capable of eliminating unnecessary operation of a seat at the moment of collision and thereafter by properly stopping operation of the seat even before each part of the seat is set within a target range if the time from collision prediction to the collision is short when each part of the seat is operated as collision preliminary operation so as to be set within the prescribed target range, enhancing occupant protection effect, and preventing an occupant from being restricted more than required. <P>SOLUTION: The occupant crash protection device has a collision prediction means for predicting the collision, a seat operation means for operating each part of the seat as the collision preliminary operation so as to be set within the prescribed target range, and a control means for controlling operation of the seat operation means.
