<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device for a vehicle capable of enhancing occupant protection effect at the time of collision by operating a seat so as to be in a state suitable for occupant protection at the time of collision prediction. <P>SOLUTION: The occupant crash protection device for the vehicle has a collision prediction means for predicting the collision, a seat slide means for sliding the seat to a fore-and-aft direction, a reclining means for changing a seat back inclining angle of the seat, a slide position detecting means for detecting a fore-and-aft slide position P of the seat, a reclining angle detecting means for detecting the seat back inclining angleθof the seat, and a control means for controlling operation of the seat slide means and the reclining means. The control means operates the seat slide means and the reclining means based on output from the collision prediction means so that the fore-and-aft slide position P and the seat back inclining angleθare set within a proper range R regulated by the mutual relation thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
