摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel hydrogen storage battery having a long service life and excellent high-rate charge and discharge performance by using a long-life and highly active hydrogen storage electrode for a negative electrode. <P>SOLUTION: Hydrogen storage alloy powder containing a rare earth element, nickel and cobalt as constituent elements, having a mean particle size of 20 to 35μm and a mass saturation magnetization of 1 to 5 emu/g, and formed with a continuous surface layer on the surface, the surface layer having no cavity and containing Ni and Co having magnetic properties is used as an active material of a hydrogen storage alloy electrode.
