<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormal state diagnostic system and an abnormal state diagnostic method for various kinds of machines in which a database of the data of operation states that are not abnormal can be utilized for uses other than failure predictions. <P>SOLUTION: A control means 4 for monitoring and controlling a machine 2 to be diagnosed has a database 7 and a display means 8, and the database 7 stores standard values of operation state data of the machine 2 to be diagnosed.
