PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed change controller for a continuously variable transmission capable of restraining frequent switching of speed change ratios caused by delicate changes of speed of a vehicle displayed on a displaying device. SOLUTION: In the speed change controller, the controller can select a target input number of rotation on the basis of operation of an operating device and a target input number of rotation on the basis of an operating state of the vehicle, and controls a speed change ratio so as to make a real input number of rotation of the continuously variable transmission approximate the target input number of rotation, and also have the displaying device displaying speed change ratios. When the target input number of rotation is changed by operation of the operating device or the target input number of rotation of the continuously variable transmission is approximately controlled at a constant level on the basis of a braking demand of the vehicle, the controller comprises a first displaying means (step S26) for displaying the speed change ratio in response to the target input number of rotation on the displaying device, and a second displaying means (step S28) for displaying the speed change ratio in response to the target input number of rotation on the displaying device.
