PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter mechanism for enabling high speed for shutter speed, by performing sure shutter operation by an inexpensive magnet, and to provide a camera which uses it. SOLUTION: The shutter mechanism 22 comprises a turnable turning arm 27, and shutter blades 23-26 for shielding an opening 12a of a prescribed bore formed on a base member 12 by the turning of the turning arm 27. The turning arm 27 comprises fixing a first magnet 28 being a drive magnet, with a first coil 29 which is a drive coil arranged at an opposite side having the drive magnet 28 and a prescribed gap, turning the turning arm 27 allowing magnetic flux generated by being energized to the first coil 29, to act on a magnetic flux of the first magnet 28, and shielding the opening 12a, by rotating the shutter blades 23-26 and by interlocking with the turning of the turning arm 27.
