PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin portable printer capable of enhancing use feeling by containing a larger number of recording sheets by single setting. SOLUTION: Case 2 of a printer 1 comprises a first thick body section 20 having a first cavity-like recess 21, and a second thin body section 25 having a second cavity-like recess 26 communicating with the first recess 21 and extending sideways from the first thick body section 20. Only recording sheets and components required to be arranged mechanically in the first body section 20 at the time of recording can be contained in the first recess 21, and components not required to be incorporated in the first body section 20 can be contained in the second recess 26.
