PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multistage treatment apparatus for polluted water capable of simply maintaining liquid surfaces of respective tanks into specified levels, respectively, and decomposing/removing pollutive materials by efficiently mixing ozone into polluted water when performing multistage treatment of the polluted water by using both of ozone and ultraviolet rays. SOLUTION: In the multistage treatment apparatus for polluted water, two or more sets of decomposition treatment means composed of pressurizing mixing pumps 2a, 2b for mixing ozone into the polluted water, ultraviolet irradiation apparatus 3a, 3b and gas-liquid separation tanks 4a, 4b are connected in series. Outflow ports 7a, 7b of the polluted water from respective gas-liquid separation tanks 4a, 4b are located on the upper side from inflow ports 6a, 6b of the polluted water into the tank. Outflow flow rates of the polluted water in the respective decomposition treatment means are respectively less than inflow flow rates and the difference between the outflow flow rate and inflow flow rate is returned to a raw water tank 1 or the gas-liquid separation tank 4a of the preliminary stage.
