PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which creates high quality image data. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus is provided, which includes: a scanning quality parameter extraction means which extracts a scanning quality parameter which shows quality of the scanning image from image data based on a scanning error detection algorithm; a scanning quality evaluation means which determines existence of scanning error occurrence based on the scanning error detection algorithm and the scanning quality parameter; and a notice means which performs the notice based on the determination result of the scanning quality evaluation means.
