PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image blur correcting device with which a movable section is fixed with low power consumption when a main power source is on and an image blur correcting operation is not carried out. SOLUTION: The image blur correcting device includes: the movable section 30a having an imaging element 39a1 and being movable in a first direction X perpendicular to the optical axis of a photographic lens and in a second direction Y perpendicular to the optical axis and the first direction; a fixing section 30b supporting the movable section; first pressing members fh1 and fv1 and second pressing members fh2 and fv2 which, when power is not supplied, are pulled to press the moving section to fix it in a first prescribed position in the first direction and a second prescribed position in the second direction, respectively, and which, when power is not supplied, are constrained to release the movable section from being fixed in the first direction and the second direction, respectively; and a control means for controlling the movement of the movable section and the movement of the fixing section by switching between power supply and power non-supply. During a fixed length of period right after switching from the power non-supply to the power supply, the movable section is controlled to move and fix to the first prescribed position in the first direction and the second prescribed position in the second direction.
