PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To newly develop active ingredients except keratin and lanolin existing in wool, and to industrially apply the same. SOLUTION: This composition used for hair restoration and hair growth is characterized by comprising a wool extract obtained by production processes consisting essentially of (a) a process for extracting wool with a 1 to 6C linear or branched saturated monohydric alcohol in a weight amount of 1 to 10 times that of the wool, (b) a process for removing the solvent from the extract solution obtained in the process (a), and then dissolving the obtained residual substances in a 1 to 3C linear or branched saturated monohydric alcohol, and then (c) a process for filtering the solution obtained in the process (b) to remove insoluble substances.
