PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool which can efficiently carry out machining work with high accuracy by minimizing chattering vibration thereof. SOLUTION: The cutting tool for cutting a workpiece by abutting a cutting blade on the workpiece, has a cutting tool main body having the cutting blade formed at the tip thereof, a vibration detecting sensor arranged in the cutting tool main body, for detecting vibration of the cutting tool main body, and a vibration adding element arranged in the cutting tool main body, for adding vibration to the cutting tool main body.
