PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge treating apparatus capable of eliminating problems such as the generation of gas and the degradation of sterilization efficiency by dissolving gaseous oxygen and gaseous hydrogen in water again. SOLUTION: In the sludge treating apparatus which performs sterilization treatment or solubilization treatment of sludge microorganisms by electrolytic treatment toward excess sludge produced when biological treatment of organic waste water is carried out, a reaction vessel 31 in which electrolytic treatment is performed is made into a sealed structure and a pressurizing means 4 for making the inside of the reaction vessel 31 high pressure is provided.
