PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residual grain removing apparatus capable of surely removing residual grains in a grain polishing chamber without use of a large-scale compressor and a large-scale air tank, a grain polishing apparatus and a residual grain removing method. SOLUTION: A vertical type rice polishing apparatus 10 removes the bran layer from the surface of rice grains while raising the grains fed to a grinding rice-polishing chamber 32. When feeding of the grains to the rice-polishing chamber is stopped, the residual grain removing apparatus 120 opens a power operation valve 126 arranged in an air hose 124 constituting a passage connecting between a compressor 122 and the chamber 32 intermittently by a controller 128, and compressed air supplied to the rice-polishing chamber 32 is blown onto the grains remaining in the bottom part of the chamber 32, and the grains are transferred downstream of the chamber 32 by the compressed air flow and removed from the bottom part of the chamber 32.
