<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately judge whether an entire picture is colored in green by a fluorescent lamp, and to appropriately change the strength of correction for coloring in green according to a result of the judgement. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic camera of the present invention comprises an image pickup section, an image pickup control section, a special light source discriminating section, a uniform illumination judging section, and a color balance adjusting section. The image pickup section picks up an image of an object. The image pickup control section picks up a test image without flash and a main image with flash. The special light source discriminating section detects coloring in green of the main image caused by the fluorescent lamp. The uniform illumination determination section detects a histogram correlation between the test image and the main image and judges uniformity of illumination. If the histogram correlation is high and coloring in green is detected, the color balance determination section determines that the illumination of the fluorescent lamp is uniform, and relatively increases red and blue components of the main image rather than a green component to correct coloring in green. If the histogram correlation is low and coloring in green is detected, on the other hand, the color balance adjusting section judges that the illumination of the fluorescent lamp is non-uniform, and weakens the correction for coloring in green. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
