<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polybutylene terephthalate pellet for providing a polybutylene terephthalate film, sheet and monofilament each excellent in color tone, hydrolytic resistance and transparency and decreased in foreign matters, and to provide a method for producing the pellet. <P>SOLUTION: This polybutylene terephthalate pellet contains≤90 wt. ppm titanium expressed in terms of titanium atom, comprises a polybutylene terephthalate having 1.10-2.00 dL/g mean intrinsic viscosity based on whole pellets and satisfies following relations. (IV-1.00)/2≥ΔIV>0 (1).
