PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device in which the unifomity of a toner layer thickness in the lengthwise direction of a developer carrier is ensured and toner can uniformly and stably be supplied to an image carrier by preventing toner from staying upstream of the contact part of a regulating blade with the developer carrier in the direction of the rotation of the developer carrier, thereby preventing fusion on the blade. SOLUTION: The plate-like regulating blade 13 disposed in contact with a developing roller 12 is formed such that a face 17 extending from its contact part 16 with the developing roller 12 to its free end 15 and facing the developing roller 12 is curved.
