MODULAR JACK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular jack by which a housing is held stably to a work table and the work table is not scratched, while the pressing force at the time of wiring connection is made to act in the projection direction of a fitting pawl. SOLUTION: A fitting cover 1 having a fitting pawl 14a for fitting it to a fitting frame and a modular jack main body 2 into which a modular plug is inserted are joined. The modular jack main body 2 has a terminal board 23 provided with a terminal member having a connection slit for connecting by pressing an electric wire thereinto and the fitting cover 1 has a pedestal part 12 overlapping the terminal board 23. The pressing force of the electric wire into the terminal member is made to act in the projection direction of the fitting pawl 14a. One face of the pedestal part 12 in the projection direction of the fitting pawl 14a is made as a pressing plane 12a for contacting the work table plane.
