PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image picked up by an image pickup lens on a monitor screen consisting of a liquid crystal panel, and to effectively utilize light from a light source for a back light of the liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is constituted so that an image pickup lens is arranged on one main surface of an approximately rectangular parallelepiped casing 1, the monitor screen consisting of the liquid crystal panel 4 is arranged on the other main surface which is the opposite surface to one main surface, and an image photographed by the image pickup lens 2 is displayed on the monitor screen, wherein a part of light from the light source for the back light of the monitor screen is guided to a light emitting part 7 arranged on one main surface by a light guide member 8 to emit light from the light emitting part 7.
