PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image blur correcting system, which does not have a large mechanism, such as a motor, for fixing a movable section in a prescribed position in the range of its movement, with a device for fixing the movable section in position when a main power source is off. SOLUTION: The image blur correcting system includes: the movable section having an imaging element or an image blur correction lens and being movable in a first direction perpendicular to the optical axis of a photographic lens and in a second direction perpendicular to the optical axis and the first direction; a fixing section for supporting the movable section so that the movable section is free to move in the first direction and the second direction; an energizing member which, when power is not supplied, is pulled to energize the movable section, thereby fixing it in position and which, when power is supplied, is constrained to release the movable section from being fixed; and a control means which controls switching between the power supply and the power non-supply. For a fixed period of time right after switching from the power non-supply to the power supply, the control means causes a first current I1 to flow in the energizing member. After an elapse of the fixed period of time TT, the control means causes a second current I2 to flow in the energizing member, the second current I2 being lower than the first current I1.
