PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a colorant for a polyolefin-based resin and a producing method thereof, in which the colorant is obtained only by mixing and agitating a polyolefin-based resin and a pigment at a peripheral speed of a constant laminar flow and is excellent in the pigment dispersibility comparable to a masterbatch produced by the conventional flushing method, for improving such drawbacks that the conventional flushing method, which is popularly used because the colorant obtained by the method gives easily a product excellent in the pigment dispersibility in coloring and molding a natural resin, has a big melt kneading apparatus and is not easy in production operation. SOLUTION: The colorant for a polyolefin-based resin and a producing method thereof, are obtained by laminar flow mixing a mixture obtained by adding a pigment to a polyolefin-based resin at a temperature of the softening point of the polyolefin-based resin or lower using a high speed mixer having a gap between the tip of the agitation blade and the inner wall surface of the agitation tank of 3-30 mm and a tip speed of the rotating agitation blade of 8 m/sec or higher.
