PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a perfluoroalkyl group-having alcohol derivative useful as an intermediate for medicines, agrochemicals and the like. SOLUTION: This method for producing the perfluoroalkyl group-having alcohol derivative represented by general formula (5) : R<SB>F</SB>C(OH)R<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>(representative example: 2,2,2-trifluoro-1-phenylethanol) is characterized by reacting a carbonyl compound represented by general formula (1): R<SP>1</SP>COR<SP>2</SP>with a perfluoroalkylsilane represented by general formula (2) : R<SB>F</SB>SiR<SP>3</SP>R<SP>4</SP>R<SP>5</SP>, an ammonium salt represented by general formula (3) : R<SP>6</SP>R<SP>7</SP>R<SP>8</SP>R<SP>9</SP>NX and a fluoride represented by general formula (4) : MF in a low polar organic solvent or in a mixture solvent of a low polar organic solvent with water.
