PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining a leak portion in a pipe and a pipe length measuring method not requiring a connection portion to be provided for making a measured signal get incident newly in a gas pipe. SOLUTION: This method includes a time difference measuring step for receiving a leak sound from a leak portion P sound-received in the first portion of the first branch pipe 1, and a leak sound from a leak portion P sound-received in the second portion of the second branch pipe 2, and for measuring a leak sound arrival time difference of a difference between an arrival time of the leak sound from the leak portion P to the first portion and an arrival time of the leak sound from the leak portion P to the second portion, the first time measuring step for measuring an interportional signal arrival time of a time from the transmission of the measured signal transmitted from one side of the first portion and the second portion to the reception thereof in the other side, and a determination step for determining the leak portion P, based on the leak sound arrival time difference and the interportional signal arrival time.
