PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnetic substance involving particles having uniform magnetism, excellent dispersion stability and a narrow particle size distribution, a manufacturing method thereof, particles for immunoassay using the particles, and an immunoassay method using the magnetic substance involving particles and the particles for immunoassay. SOLUTION: In the magnetic substance involving particles comprising an organic polymer material and the magnetic substance having the mean particle size of 1-30 nm, the magnetic substance is involved inside the particle in the dispersed state, and the absolute deviation of the component ratio between the carbon element constituting the organic polymer material and a metal element constituting the magnetic substance is 0.3 or less.
