PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neck ring inspection device capable of simply performing total inspection, and a neck ring inspection method. SOLUTION: The neck ring inspection device for inspecting the shape of the neck ring 601 of a PET bottle 600 has a floodlight projection part 100 for projecting light on the neck ring 601, a camera 200 for photographing the neck ring 601 on which light is projected by the floodlight projection part 100 and a controller 300 for judging whether the neck ring 601 has a predetermined reference shape on the basis of the image data formed by the camera 200.
