PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pinball machine where proportional relationship is obtained between the rotation amount of an operation handle and a force to hit a game ball without temporal change and without being affected by static electricity. SOLUTION: The machine includes: a light emitting means; a light beam reflecting means for reflecting a light beam from the light emitting means; and a light receiving means for receiving the light beam and generating an electric signal corresponding to the strength of the received light. The light beam reflecting means is operated in response to the rotation amount of the operation handle and adjusts the hitting force by varying the strength of the light beam which is received by the light receiving means.
