PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently display a plurality of kinds of tomographic images with different slice thickness. SOLUTION: The image display system consists of an image display means 21 for displaying a plurality of tomographic images with different directional positions of the slice depth to show a subject sliced in prescribed slice thickness, a selection means 23 for selecting one of the plurality of tomographic images displayed in the image display means 21, and a display control means 20 for having a plurality of tomographic images displayed in the image display means 21. When the selection means 23 selects one tomographic image, the display control means 20 displays in the image display means 21, in place of the currently displayed tomographic images, the plurality of tomographic images whose slice depth is thinner than that of the currently displayed tomographic images and which are in the range of depth including the directional position of the slice depth of the selected tomographic image.
