PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air purification apparatus which can generate a large volume of highly oxidative OH radicals. SOLUTION: The air purification apparatus comprises a filter 3 which carries a moisture adsorbent and is disposed at the upstream side of a duct of a discharge electrode 2, a photocatalyst filter 4 which is disposed at the downstream side of the duct of the above discharge electrode 2, an earth electrode 5 disposed at the outside of the above filter 3 which carries the moisture adsorbent and the above photocatalyst filter 4, and a heating means 6 which is disposed at the upstream side of the duct of the filter 3 which carries the moisture adsorbent. When the voltage is applied, the filter which contains the moisture becomes easy to discharge to increase the discharge density and a probability of the collision is increased between electrons or the like which are generated by the discharge and scatter in high speed and water molecules in a space of the above filter which contains the moisture so that the large volume of the species of active oxygen is generated.
