The heat exchanger (30,40) consists of two portions with curved external and internal walls with an edge connection seam (90). They fit on the outside of a tube containing the vibration-type fluid flow- or viscosity-measuring instrument (1) and are held in place by bolts (50) engaging lugs at the ends. There are short bolts at the top and long bolts at the bottom. Welded dots or rings (80) form internal connections leaving a channel (70) for the cooling or heating fluid. The tip edges of the heat exchanger portions may have cutouts to accommodate a side branch (8) extending from the instrument tube.
