The circuit receives a low tolerance input dc voltage [UE] and produces a regulated output voltage [UA]. The circuit has a switching transistor [4] and an inductance [3] coupled to a diode [5] and a smoothing capacitor [7] is between the transistor output and earth. The transistor is controlled with a pulse width modulated signal [19] provided by a multivibrator [16].
