It is intended to provide a gene encoding a novel protein which binds to an Rho family protein constituting one group of low-molecular weight GTP-binding proteins and can exert the guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) activity, namely, a polynucleotide represented by a base sequence described in SEQ ID NO:1 or 3, a complementary chain thereof, a homolog of the above polynucleotide, a protein encoded by the above polynucleotide, a vector containing the above polynucleotide, a transformant containing the above vector, an antibody against the protein encoded by the above polynucleotide, a method of identifying a compound inhibiting the function and/or expression of the protein encoded by the above polynucleotide, a method of judging a disease, a medicinal composition and a reagent kit.
