A braking system for a vehicle includes an actuator, such as a stop light switch that is actuatable to provide a reverse driving signal indicative of brake pedal operation, an ECU that is electrically connected with the actuator for receiving the reverse driving signal, and a vehicle accessory, such as a back-up alarm, that is electrically connected with the ECU, the ECU being controlled as a function of the reverse driving signal.
