A sugar chain-supported carbosilane dendrimer represented by the following general formula (1): (R<1>)mSi{-R<2>-Si(R<6>)l[R<3>-Si(R<7>)k(R<4>-S-R<5>-A)3-k]3-l}n, the following general formula (2): (R<1>)mSi[-R<2>-Si(R<6>)l(R<4>-S-R<5>-A)3-l], or the following general formula (3): (R<1>)mSi(R<4>-S-R<5>-A)n; a process for producing the dendrimer; and a Deugne fever virus infection inhibitor, an antiviral agent, and a target substance for the screening of anti-HIV agents. The sugar chain-supported carbosilane dendrimer is a novel compound. The Deugne fever virus infection inhibitor, antiviral agent, and target substance for the screening of antiviral agents each contains the sugar chain-supported carbosilane dendrimer as an active ingredient.
